TOKYO —  Samurai Japan second baseman Tetsuto Yamada (Tokyo Yakult Swallows – NPB) was named the Hublot Player of the Game for blasting two home runs against Mexico in the bronze medal finale at the Tokyo Dome.

With the most doubles on the team and the most walks (11) in the Premier12, Yamada put his power on display on the final day to help his nation capture the bronze medal and finish with a tournament-best record of 7-1.

Yamada hit home runs in each of the first two innings in the bronze medal finale and collected three RBIs.

The Swallows second baseman also led the Samurai Japan National Team and the Premier12 in total runs scored (8).
